It's just the testosterone level on the list. Men tend to be more
confrontational, whereas women tend to be more willing to compromise.
Plus, you have to consider the fact that out of all the people subscribed
to M-I, there are only three regular posters that are female (Zeynep,
Yoshie, and now myself).
If there are any others, I'd like to know about it.

I wouldn't go that far; I'm certainly no prude (you could ask my
boyfriend for proof of that). However, there is really no reason for me
to be 'unladylike' when responding to a post, unless it's a direct
personal attack. And even then, why should I give the attacker any more
ammunition to fire at me?

going on.
I think now the debate between us and the denizens of the SUNY-Buffalo
collective has reached a stalemate, with both sides not willing to give
in. Since it's obvious that no one is going to concede defeat, we are
both lowering ourselves to shameless name calling and sexual teasing.
Until something of real substantive value comes up on either side, I
believe that this will continue until one side throws it's hands up in
disgust and walks away.
It's also indicative of sexism and objectification (if there is such a
word), where people are not whole beings but collections of objects,
just waiting to be used. It's easier to attack someone if you think of
them as a group of genitalia than as an individual who is capable of
intelligent, rational thought (no matter how much we might disagree on
the contents of such thoughts).
On the flip side, I do admit that it was damn funny.
