Knowledge is power, and this is what WBAI is giving you: knowledge by which to decipher the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and this constant static that we get called the mass media. Andrew Kimbrell, let me ask you a question about ethnic weapons. When I was a graduate student at the University of California, at Berkeley, 25 years ago, getting my Ph.D., I was at a [protest] demonstration at the Presidio in San Francisco, and leaflets were being distributed showing pictures of ethnic weapons; that is Taysachs [disease] which affects Jews, sickle cell anemia, which affects African-Americans, and the inability to metabolize lactose, which affects Asians. And there was a lot of talk that at the Presidio they were doing studies of the Vietnam War, involving an Asian People. Well, since then, I've heard nothing more about that. However, as you pointed out, there are sixty-six germ warfare experiments being conducted around the United States. The question I have for you is, what have you heard concerning the possibility of race-specific, ethnic-specific weapons -- that is, ethnic weapons? ANDREW KIMBRELL: There continues to be speculation, particularly that at Los Alamos, the United States Department of Energy has been involved in ethnic- specific weapons for a very long period of time. I cannot document that and, therefore, I cannot say, for sure that that is going on. Clearly, it is within our [Government's] capabilities. An interesting new thing that is happening: I traveled, a week ago, to Malaysia and to several other Third World countries to talk about what was happening in that area, and that our Government is currently funding a program [using our earnings] whereby they are going to indigenous peoples around the World, collecting hair samples, blood samples and cell samples in order to create a library of the genetic readouts, the genetic make-up of all indigenous peoples in the World. Of course, this can be enormously valuable. As I've said before, they are patenting this material. It can also be used for (since most indigenous peoples are occupied by their governments) renewed genocide against these people. And we [The Foundation for Economic Trends, Washington, D.C.] have started an international movement against this particular program that is being funded, in part, by the United States Government. So these things are causes for concern. I was certainly concerned when I read the report about what is going on in Cuba. I'm concerned when I read about the disease that just broke out with some of the American Indian population here in the United States. We certainly want to learn a lot more. And I think that, with the knowledge that we have of our current capabilities, an inquisitive attitude about these experiments is TERRIBLY important because I think that, without question, our Government has the capabilities for [the production of] these weapons. There is no question that there is always some aspect of the Military that wants to use whatever they're experimenting with. However, I cannot absolutely document that those ethnic weapons are being created. One of the cases I describe in the book is a really shocking case where Grenada BioSciences in Texas actually has attempted, in Europe, to patent a WOMAN who would be genetically engineered to produce valuable pharmaceuticals in her mammary glands. I was absolutely in DISBELIEF when I heard this, but, as I documented in the book, I had spoken with their attorneys and documented the fact that this was actually the intent of the company.
