And Professor Blakey said that he took it very seriously. In a two-hour phone conversation, he said that he was really going to look into it. But then we learned later that he got one of the FBI agents, Seibert, to file an affidavit saying that he was mistaken about the surgery [to the President's head that was first noticed at Bethesda], but he only publishes SIX WORDS of the affidavit -- which is absurd -- and he locks up the rest for fifty years. And I think that situation is now going to change, if this legislation goes through. Then we'll see what Seibert REALLY said. And I KNOW, from speaking to that agent, that he said he stands behind his statement. And the FBI documents indicate that he did. So I don't know what the full sentences were that he wrote, but I charge Blakey with manipulation of this situation, you know. I mean, he did not let this hypothesis .... He DID NOT investigate this properly. There should have been public hearings on this matter. This is the most SERIOUS matter raised. Okay, what else? You asked me about the "clandestine intermission." The "clandestine intermission" is one of the most complicated parts of my book. And it's hard to do on the radio without a chart. Okay? But, having said that, let me just say that I try to explain, in my book, my personal analysis of how you can have multiple coffins arriving at the room within the same, let's say, forty-minute time frame, and not have everybody saying, "There are two caskets here. What's going on." And, basically, it involved the fact that one group of people were told to leave the room and sequestered in another room for awhile for the taking of X-rays. And this is in the FBI report. I explain what that means. I put it on a time-line and show how this works. Nevertheless, the fact that some people were sequestered (most of them were) does not mean that nobody knows that there are two coffins. And there are two instances where people are aware of the fact that there are two caskets. And what had happened in those two instances was that one was told that it was a security measure, okay? -- that they needed two caskets for security. This matches what the casket team was told: that they had been following a "decoy" ambulance. Well I'd like to see a memo to the file in the Justice Department [reading]: "By the way, Attorney-General Robert Kennedy, when your brother's body was brought back here, if you hear reports that it was in another casket, don't worry. We were using a decoy ambulance." I mean, certainly, he and his sister-in-law Jacqueline Kennedy did not know any such thing! And this kind of thing is nonsense. So I'd like to see someone produce a document about that, if it was so legitimate -- an official "decoy". That's number one. But secondly, another guy was told -- and he was Jenkins -- that the body in the second coffin was that of an Air Force colonel! Now this "Air Force colonel" story, which apparently was only told to Jenkins (I can find no other evidence for it), is false because Jenkins was told -- according to what he told me in my 1979 interviews -- that this was an Air Force colonel who was buried the next day at Arlington National Cemetery. I did very good investigative work on this, and I have a letter with the letterhead of Arlington National Cemetery (way back when I did my book) stating that there were no burials. There were just no burials on Saturday, and certainly no Air Force colonel was buried there. So, I think I really batted that one right out of the ball park. And I think it's just a cover story. So some people became aware of two caskets and they were told a story. This sort of thing ought to be done under oath. In fact, I have the moment on camera. I didn't put this in my "BEST EVIDENCE" research video which, in thirty-five minutes, sums up my findings. I didn't put this part in, but I actually have film footage of James Jenkins going through "the Air Force colonel" story, and then he has this moment of truth. And it's a very cute kind of candid-camera moment on my camera when he realizes that this story is just that: a story. No one ever opens the coffin. No one ever says: "Look. Here's the Air Force colonel's body." It's just a story. That's my belief about it. GARY NULL: Okay. One last thing: the X-rays and photographs. DAVID LIFTON: Well, that's very hard to do as one last thing. Again, we are limited by the fact that we are on the radio, and you need to look at things. Basically, I would say that the two most serious problems with the X-rays and the photographs is the area in the back of President Kennedy's head: the back of the head, according to both the Dallas doctors -- who see the relatively small hole, about the size of an apple or an egg -- and the Bethesda doctors who see this much bigger hole, according to the dimensions on the autopsy chart and the testimony. When we enter the world of autopsy photographs, it's like going into Alice in Wonderland. Suddenly, there is neither a small hole nor a big hole. There is NO hole! There is NO HOLE at the back of the President's head! It appears intact. How did that happen? Are these photographic forgeries, or was there reconstruction? And we [see] have the President's body, but with some section of the back of the head or the scalp pasted over. Whatever it is -- however it was done -- the back of the President's head looks pretty much uninjured, except for a small textbook-like bullet entry on a drawing that was created by the House Select Committee on Assassinations, based on these photographs. So, the back of the head looks relatively intact. The wound is at the top of the head, according to the photographs. And on the X-rays, it's even at the front of the head, according to the lateral X-ray. So what do you do with this kind of evidence? Well, common sense tells us that the X-rays and the photographs CANNOT be [showing] the condition of the President's body as it was in Dallas. They are not even showing the condition of the body as it was in Bethesda. How did this stuff get created? Is it reconstructions? If so, what was the time frame? When did they do it? Or, is it photo forgery? And those are the two hypotheses. In my book, I have gone down the path of reconstruction. But however it was done, I believe that it was falsified. The question is: Can you prove it? And I take the word "prove" very seriously. If it could be proven, frankly, the case is solved because then you'll have the people who phonied the autopsy of President Kennedy. If you could find the people who phonied the diagram of the shooting -- which is what the autopsy is -- I believe you have solved the Kennedy Assassination, in many respects.
